Besan Ladoo

Most famous North Indian dessert

Ingredients:1 1/2 cups gram flour (basen)
4 tablespoons sooji (semolina flour)
1/2 cup Ghee (clarified butter)
3/4 cups sugar
4 tablespoons sliced almonds (badam)
1/4 teaspoons ilaichi powder (grounded cardamom seeds)

Garnish:1 tablespoons sliced pistachios (pista)
10 resins

Method:
Put the basen and sooji in a large frying pan and saute
Add the ghee and roast in low heat
Roast the basen mixture until basen becomes light golden brown in color
Keep stirring the mixture continuously with a spatula to prevent it from burning
See that the color changes to golden brown. You will start smelling the roasted basen
Remove the pan from the heat and let the basen cool to a warm temperature (till you can touch it by hand)
To the warm mixture add the ilaichi powder, almonds and sugar. Mix it by hand to make a proper mix
Take about 2 tablespoons of warm basen mixture and gently press the mixture between your palms to form a smooth round ball
Embed a resin over the laddo and press gently. Make sure the ladoo does not change shape
Leave the ladoos on a plate to cool to room temperature
